Kathaveeriya Arjunan taking away Kamadhenu after killing Saint Jamathakni:

Once Kathaveeriya Arjunan, the king of Kekeya Desam, visited Kundali forest.  Saint Jamathakni offered shelter and food obtained from Kamadhenu (giver of all fortunes) to the king and his army. While taking leave, the king  requested Saint Jamathakni to give him Kamadhenu. As the saint refused, the king fought with the Saint and decamped with Kamadhenu after killing the saint.
Parasuramar recovered Kamadhenu:
Hearing the incident, Parasuramar got angry. He fought with Kathaveeriya Arjunan and recovered Kamadhenu after killing him.
Renugai entering Cremation fire:
When the body of Saint Jamathakni was cremated, Renugai too entered the funeral fire. At that time, by Gods' grace the rain poured and the funeral fire got extinguished.  Renugai arose from the fire with boils all over her body and dressed in neem leaves.  Lord Siva appeared and resurrected Saint Jamathakni. As prayed by Mother Renuga Devi, He granted her a boon to remain in this world as Goddess with  her head alone and  bestow her blessings.

Goddess Renuga Devi self-manifested herself in Padaiveedu and started offering blessings and boons to her devotees.
